Movements must correctly combine 3 elements for change
One may increase a social movement’s odds of success by identifying the right target for the right pressure at the right moment. A movement campaign’s target should aim at those who hold power―entities that can enforce, leverage and change policy, culture or others’ deeply held beliefs. When targeted right after public attention is on a grievance or challenge to those affected by an issue, those in power are the most susceptible to pressure and weakest in their opposition to demands.
